Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mozzarella

Take the mozzarella cheese sticks and freeze them for at least 30 minutes. This will help them hold their shape during frying.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Bread the Mozzarella Sticks

Take a frozen mozzarella stick and coat it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it is completely covered. Repeat for all mozzarella sticks.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully add a few breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the sticks and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Dipping Sauce

  1. 6

    Prepare the Dipping Sauce

While the mozzarella sticks are frying, pour the marinara sauce into a small serving bowl for dipping.
