Method

Seafood Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Seafood

In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until the seafood is cooked through and the mussels and clams have opened. Remove from heat and drain. Set aside.

Pasta Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Pasta

In the same pot of boiling water, add fettuccine or linguine pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Alfredo Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Alfredo Sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Continue stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Tomato Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Tomato Sauce

In a separate saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, then stir in the fresh basil.

Combine and Serve

  1. 5

    Mix and Serve

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the Alfredo sauce or tomato sauce, and then gently fold in the cooked seafood. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese or fresh basil if desired.
