Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the fresh clams under cold running water to remove any sand or grit. Soak them in a bowl of salted water for about 30 minutes, then rinse again.

  2. 2

    Chop the Cilantro

Finely chop the fresh cilantro and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Garlic

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but do not let it brown.

  2. 4

    Add Wine and Clams

Pour in the dry white wine and bring it to a simmer. Add the cleaned clams, cover the pot, and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the clams open up.

  3. 5

    Season the Clams

Once the clams are open, stir in the chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  4. 6

    Serve

Remove the pot from heat. Serve the clams hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing.
