Chop the Vegetables
Finely chop the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic cloves and set aside.
Cooking the Sauce

Brown the Meat
In a large skillet or pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and ground pork, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the Tomatoes and Wine
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and red wine. Bring to a simmer.

Add Broth and Herbs
Pour in the beef broth, add the dried oregano, and half of the fresh basil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
Cooking the Pasta

Cook the Pasta
In a separate pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Final Assembly

Combine and Serve
Once the sauce has thickened, add the remaining fresh basil. Toss the cooked pasta with the Bolognese sauce and serve hot.
