Hummus and Pita Chips
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Hummus
In a food processor, combine the canned chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, ground cumin, salt, and water. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the hummus is too thick, add more water or olive oil to reach your desired consistency.
- 2
Add Roasted Red Peppers
Add the roasted red peppers to the hummus mixture and blend again until well incorporated and smooth.
- 3
Prepare Pita Chips
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the pita bread into triangles and place them on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and paprika.
- 4
Bake the Chips
Bake the pita triangles in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until they are crispy and golden brown. Make sure to flip them halfway through for even baking.
- 5
Serve
Serve the roasted red pepper hummus on a plate, drizzling a little olive oil on top if desired, and enjoy with the homemade pita chips.
