Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast
Method
Directions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the chicken breasts and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Flour Mixture
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 3
Dredge the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the coated chicken breasts to the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary. Fry for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
