Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and insert a skewer into each shrimp, leaving enough space for handling.

In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well.

Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.

Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Dip Shrimp in Batter
Dip each skewer of shrimp into the batter, ensuring they are well coated.

Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
