Toppings

Method

Preparation of Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee and Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur. Set aside.

Cream Mixture Preparation

  1. 3

    Whip Cream

In a large mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar

In another bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  3. 5

    Add Mascarpone and Vanilla

Gently fold in 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the egg yolk mixture until just combined.

  4. 6

    Combine Cream and Egg Mixture

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated. Be gentle to maintain the lightness.

Assembling Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the coffee mixture, ensuring they soak but do not become soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by half of the mascarpone cream mixture. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture on top.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 9

    Chill in Refrigerator

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings to taste.
