Method

Marinating the Hanger Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the hanger steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the steak is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Cooking the Hanger Steak

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill or sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Sautéing Broccoli Rabe

  1. 6

    Prepare the Broccoli Rabe

Trim the ends of the broccoli rabe and rinse under cold water.

  2. 7

    Sauté the Garlic

In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant.

  3. 8

    Cook the Broccoli Rabe

Add the broccoli rabe to the pan, season with salt, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until tender but still bright green.

Making Spicy Salsa Verde

  1. 9

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine chopped parsley, cilantro, minced garlic, chopped capers, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, and olive oil.

  2. 10

    Season

Season with salt to taste and mix until well combined.

Preparing Polenta Puffs

  1. 11

    Cook the Polenta

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Slowly whisk in the polenta, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until thickened.

  2. 12

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan, butter, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 13

    Shape and Fry

Let the mixture cool slightly, then shape into small puffs. Heat olive oil in a skillet and fry the polenta puffs until golden brown on all sides.
