Method
Preparing the Salad Base
- 1
Wash and Chop Lettuce
Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water. Dry it thoroughly using a salad spinner or by patting it with a clean kitchen towel. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add Croutons
Sprinkle the croutons over the chopped romaine lettuce in the salad bowl.
- 3
Grate Parmesan Cheese
Using a grater, freshly grate the Parmesan cheese and sprinkle it over the salad mixture.
Making the Garlicky Vinaigrette
- 4
Prepare Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely using a knife or a garlic press.
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl or jar, combine the minced garlic, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
- 6
Mix the Vinaigrette
Whisk or shake the mixture vigorously until all ingredients are well combined and emulsified.
Assembling the Salad
- 7
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the garlicky vinaigrette over the salad base, ensuring even coverage.
- 8
Toss the Salad
Gently toss the salad with tongs or salad servers to coat the lettuce, croutons, and cheese with the vinaigrette.
- 9
Serve
Divide the salad into individual plates or serve family-style in the large bowl. Enjoy immediately!
