Preparation of Salad Base

Prepare the Romaine
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold running water. Pat dry with a clean towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.

Add Parmigiano
Sprinkle the grated Parmigiano-Reggiano over the chopped romaine lettuce in the bowl.

Make the Vinaigrette
In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic (you can use a garlic press), Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until the mixture is well combined and emulsified.

Combine Ingredients
Drizzle the prepared vinaigrette over the salad base of romaine lettuce and grated Parmigiano. Toss gently until the lettuce is evenly coated with the dressing.
