Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring about 4-5 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add salt to the water.

Cook Spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside, reserving a small cup of pasta water.
Making the Marinara Sauce

Simmer Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Adjust Consistency
If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
Finishing the Dish

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained spaghetti to the marinara sauce and toss to combine, ensuring all the pasta is well coated.

Plate the spaghetti and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve warm.
