Burrata and Accompaniments

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Roast the Cherry Tomatoes

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss the cherry tomatoes in a bowl with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them evenly on a baking sheet and roast for about 15-20 minutes, until they are blistered and slightly caramelized.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Crostini

While the tomatoes are roasting, slice the loaf of crostini bread into 1/2 inch slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.

  3. 3

    Plate the Burrata

Once the tomatoes are roasted, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Place the Burrata cheese on a serving platter. Using a fork, gently break the outer shell to allow the creamy interior to flow out.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Add Accompaniments

Surround the Burrata with the roasted cherry tomatoes and Kalamata olives on the platter.

  2. 5

    Garnish

Drizzle the basil aioli over the Burrata and the roasted tomatoes. Add a few drops of balsamic glaze for sweetness and artistic flair. Finally, add a generous scoop of roasted pepper purée alongside the dish for added flavor.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve the Burrata appetizer with the toasted crostini on the side for dipping and spreading.
