Method
Preparation
- 1
Slice the Ingredients
Begin by slicing the fresh mozzarella into 1/4 inch thick slices. Next, slice the Roma tomatoes into similar thickness.
- 2
Prepare the Basil
Wash and pat dry the fresh basil leaves. Remove any tough stems.
- 3
Prepare the Bread
Slice the panini bread if not pre-sliced, ensuring each slice is of an even thickness for even grilling.
Assembling the Panini
- 4
Layer the Ingredients
On one slice of the panini bread, layer the sliced fresh mozzarella, followed by the sliced Roma tomatoes, and then the fresh basil leaves.
- 5
Drizzle with Olive Oil
Drizzle the 2 tablespoons of olive oil evenly over the layered ingredients.
- 6
Add Balsamic Reduction
Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the top of the basil leaves.
Grilling the Panini
- 7
Close the Sandwich
Top with the second slice of panini bread, pressing down gently to secure the fillings.
- 8
Preheat the Panini Press
Preheat your panini press or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- 9
Grill the Panini
Place the assembled panini in the press or on the grill pan. Grill for about 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- 10
Remove and Serve
Carefully remove the panini from the press or grill pan, cut in half if desired, and serve warm.
