Directions
- 1
Prepare the Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, add the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir occasionally and let it cook for about 10 minutes to enhance the flavors.
- 2
Prepare the Pepperoni
While the sauce is simmering, heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the pepperoni slices and cook for about 2-3 minutes, until they are crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread the warmed tomato sauce evenly on the bottom. Layer the crispy pepperoni slices over the sauce, followed by tearing the mozzarella cheese into pieces and scattering them on top.
- 5
Bake
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the mozzarella is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Add Burrata
Once the cheese is melted, remove the baking dish from the oven. Gently tear the Burrata cheese and place it on top of the melted mozzarella.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Drizzle the hot honey over the Burrata and sprinkle fresh basil leaves on top. Serve immediately while hot.
