Topping Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Dice the plum tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Chop the Basil

Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Mince the Garlic

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato-basil mixture.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Grate the Parmesan cheese and mix it into the bowl. Then, drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper. Mix everything well and set aside to let the flavors meld.

Crostini Preparation

  1. 5

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the baguette into ½ inch thick slices.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Crostini

Brush both sides of each slice with extra virgin olive oil and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 7

    Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the slices in the oven for about 8-10 minutes or until they are golden and crispy.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Assemble the Bruschetta

Once the crostini are ready, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Top each slice of crostini with a generous spoonful of the prepared tomato mixture.

  2. 9

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and enjoy immediately as an appetizer or snack.
