Preparing the Tea

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 16 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

Steep the Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 8 tablespoons of black tea leaves. Let it steep for 10 minutes.

Strain the Tea
After steeping, strain the tea into a large pitcher to remove the tea leaves.
Flavoring the Tea

Add Lemon Juice and Sugar
Stir in 1 cup of fresh lemon juice and 1 cup of granulated sugar to the strained tea until the sugar dissolves completely.

Add Lemon Zest
Mix in 1 tablespoon of lemon zest for additional flavor.

Chill the Tea
Refrigerate the tea for at least 1 hour, or until completely chilled.

Garnish and Serve
Serve the tea over ice with lemon slices and mint leaves as garnish if desired.
