Crab Pretzel Ingredients

Method

Crab Pretzel Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Pretzel Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Stir in olive oil and salt, then gradually add flour until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Crab Dip

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, crab meat, garlic powder, lemon juice, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Shape the Pretzels

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). After the dough has risen, divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope, twist into a pretzel shape, and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Boil Pretzels

In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil and add baking soda. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds, turning halfway. Remove and place back on the baking sheet.

  5. 5

    Bake the Pretzels

Bake the pretzels in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Crab Pretzel

Top each baked pretzel with a generous amount of crab dip and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
