Method
Preparation
- 1
- 2
Soak the Potato Slices
Soak the potato slices in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour. This helps to achieve a crispier texture.
- 3
Prepare the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Potato Chips
Carefully add a handful of potato slices into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips and drain them on paper towels.
- 5
Season the Chips
While the chips are still hot, sprinkle them with Old Bay seasoning and salt to taste. Toss gently to ensure even coating.
- 6
Serve
Allow the chips to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your Chesapeake Bay Style Potato Chips with your favorite dip or as a snack on their own!
