Filling and Crust

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pie Crust

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Place a sheet of parchment paper over the crust and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove weights and parchment and bake for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped pecans, corn syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, eggs, salt, and bourbon. Whisk until well combined.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Pie

Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust, spreading it evenly.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pie

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. Allow to cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
