Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the Roux
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring continuously until the mixture is light golden and bubbly.

Add Milk
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.

Incorporate Cheeses and Spices
Reduce the heat to low and add the sharp cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, mustard powder, black pepper, and paprika. Stir until the cheeses are fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combine with Pasta
Add the drained elbow macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is evenly coated.

Prepare Breadcrumb Topping
In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, melted butter, grated Parmesan cheese, and salt. Mix until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.
Baking

Assemble and Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the mac and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the breadcrumb topping over the mac and cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
