Cheese Curds
Ranch Dipping Sauce
Method
Cheese Curds Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese Curds
In a mixing bowl, combine the cheese curds with a little flour to coat them lightly. This helps the batter stick.
- 2
Make the Batter
In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well mixed.
- 3
Add Beer to the Batter
Gradually add the beer to the dry ingredients, whisking until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
Frying the Cheese Curds
- 4
- 5
Coat the Cheese Curds
Dip each cheese curd into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
- 6
Fry the Cheese Curds
Carefully drop the battered cheese curds into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- 7
Drain and Cool
Use a slotted spoon to remove the cheese curds from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Ranch Dipping Sauce Preparation
- 8
Mix the Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 9
Whisk Until Smooth
Whisk the mixture until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- 10
Chill the Sauce
Refrigerate the ranch dipping sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
