Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Brew the Tea

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 4 cups of brewed black tea bags. Steep for about 5-7 minutes, then remove the tea bags.

  2. 2

    Dissolve Sugar

While the tea is still warm, add 1 cup of sugar to the brewed tea and stir until completely dissolved.

  3. 3

    Add Lemon Juice

Stir in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to the tea mixture for a hint of citrus flavor.

  4. 4

    Combine Malt Beverage Base

In a separate bowl, mix 2 cups of malt beverage base with 2 cups of water. Stir until well combined.

  5. 5

    Combine All Ingredients

Pour the malt beverage mixture into the brewed tea mixture and stir gently to combine.

  6. 6

    Add Yeast

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of yeast over the mixture and stir gently to incorporate. This will initiate fermentation.

  7. 7

    Add Hops (Optional)

If desired, add 0.5 tsp of hops to enhance the flavor. Stir to combine.

Fermentation

  1. 8

    Initial Fermentation

Transfer the mixture into a sanitized fermentation vessel. Seal it with an airlock and let it ferment in a cool, dark place for about 5-7 days.

  2. 9

    Bottling

After fermentation is complete, carefully siphon the beverage into sanitized bottles, ensuring not to disturb the sediment at the bottom.

  3. 10

    Carbonation

Seal the bottles with caps and let them carbonate at room temperature for an additional 3-5 days.
