Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cooking the Proteins

  1. 2

    Sauté the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken breast and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 3

    Cook the Sausage

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced Andouille sausage and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 4

    Add Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove both the sausage and shrimp and set aside with the chicken.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 6

    Add Tomatoes

Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juice) and bring to a simmer.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 7

    Mix in Proteins

Return the cooked chicken, sausage, and shrimp to the skillet. Stir to combine.

  2. 8

    Add Seasonings

Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to coat all ingredients.

  3. 9

    Add Broth and Cream

Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine and let simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly.

  4. 10

    Combine with Pasta

Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

Serving

  1. 11

    Garnish and Serve

Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley to taste.
