Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic until well combined. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of truffle oil and the sliced wild mushrooms. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and browned. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

Take two slices of bread and spread a generous amount of garlic butter on one side of each slice. On the unbuttered side, layer half of the cheddar and half of the fontina cheese. Then, add the sautéed mushrooms on top, followed by the remaining cheese. Finally, place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.

  4. 4

    Grill the Sandwich

In the same skillet used for the mushrooms, add the sandwich and grill over medium heat. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Use a spatula to press down gently for even grilling.

  5. 5

    Finish with Truffle Oil

Once the sandwich is grilled to perfection, remove it from the skillet. Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of truffle oil over the top of the sandwich before slicing it in half.
