Directions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Set aside on a plate.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- 4
Make the Marinara Sauce
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- 5
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, and add dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
- 6
Combine Meatballs with Sauce
Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 7
Cook the Spaghetti
While the meatballs are simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 8
Serve
To serve, place the spaghetti on a plate, top with meatballs and sauce, and garnish with chopped fresh basil and additional grated Parmesan cheese.
