Ice Cream Preparation
Mixing the Base
In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Adding Flavors
Add the vanilla extract, peppermint extract, green food coloring, and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Stir well to combine.
Chilling the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until completely chilled.
Churning the Ice Cream
Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freezing
Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Warm Chocolate Sauce Preparation
Melting the Chocolate
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the dark chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Finishing the Sauce
Add the corn syrup to the melted chocolate mixture and stir until well combined and glossy. Remove from heat and set aside.
Serving
Plating the Dessert
Scoop the peppermint ice cream into bowls or cones and drizzle the warm chocolate sauce over the top. Serve immediately.
