Main Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Measure Ingredients
Begin by measuring out 2 tablespoons of finely ground Arabica coffee and place it in a small cezve (Turkish coffee pot).
- 2
Add Water
Pour 200 ml of cold water into the cezve with the coffee grounds.
- 3
Add Sugar (optional)
If you prefer sweet coffee, add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the cezve. If you like it unsweetened, you can skip this step.
- 4
Add Cardamom (optional)
For an aromatic touch, add 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom to the mixture.
Cooking
- 5
Heat the Mixture
Place the cezve on low to medium heat. Stir the mixture gently to dissolve the coffee and sugar.
- 6
Watch for Froth
As the coffee heats, watch closely for the froth to rise. Do not let it boil over.
- 7
Remove from Heat
Once the froth begins to rise, remove the cezve from the heat. Let it sit for a few seconds.
- 8
Repeat Heating
Return the cezve to the heat and allow the froth to rise again. Repeat this process 2-3 times for a richer flavor.
- 9
Serve the Coffee
Carefully pour the coffee into small demitasse cups. Allow the grounds to settle at the bottom before sipping.
