Preparation of Tea

Boil Water
In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Steep Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 tablespoons of loose black tea or 4 tea bags. Allow it to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want your tea.

Strain Tea
After steeping, strain the tea into a pitcher to remove the tea leaves or bags.
Making Simple Syrup

Combine Sugar and Water
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water.

Dissolve Sugar
Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Combining and Serving

Combine Tea and Syrup
Once the tea and simple syrup are both cooled, combine them in the pitcher. Start with half of the simple syrup and add more to taste.

Add Ice
Add 2 cups of ice cubes to the pitcher and stir well.

Garnish
If desired, add lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish and extra flavor.

Serve
Pour the iced tea into glasses and serve immediately. Enjoy your sweet iced tea!
