Method
Gyros or Chicken Shawarma
- 1
Marinate the Chicken or Meat
In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, ground cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken or meat, ensuring it’s evenly coated with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

Cook the Chicken or Meat
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the marinated chicken or meat from the refrigerator and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side (for chicken) or until fully cooked (for beef/lamb). Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) for chicken or 145°F (63°C) for beef/lamb.
- 4
Slice and Assemble
Once cooked, let the meat rest for a few minutes, then slice it thinly. Serve in pita bread or flatbreads topped with diced tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and chopped parsley. Drizzle with yogurt sauce.
Fries

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even strips or wedges.
- 6
Season the Fries
In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
- 7
Bake the Fries
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.

Serve the Drink
Pour the soft drink or lemonade into cups and serve chilled alongside the Gyros or Chicken Shawarma and Fries.
