Pitas
Method
Preparation of Garlic Dip
- 1
Prepare Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and chop them roughly to help with the mashing process.
- 2
Mash the Garlic
Using a mortar and pestle or a fork, mash the garlic cloves into a fine paste.
- 3
Mix in Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- 4
Blend Until Smooth
Use a whisk or a hand blender to blend the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy.
- 5
Chill
Cover the dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Preparation of Pitas
- 6
Warm the Pitas
While the dip is chilling, warm the pita bread in a toaster or on a skillet over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes on each side until soft and pliable.
- 7
Cut into Wedges
Once warmed, cut each pita bread into wedges for easy dipping.
