Preparation of Fava Beans

Soak the fava beans
Place the fava beans in a large bowl and cover them with water. Allow them to soak overnight or for at least 8 hours.

Cook the fava beans
Drain and rinse the soaked fava beans. In a large pot, add the fava beans and cover them with fresh water. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the beans are tender.

Prepare garlic and seasoning
While the beans are cooking, peel and mince the garlic cloves.

Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, or lemon juice as needed.
Serving

Chop the fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the foul mudammas. Serve hot with warm pita bread on the side.
