Meat

Marinade (Optional)

Method

Preparation of Meat

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, finely chopped onion, and chopped parsley. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Forming Kabobs

Divide the mixture into equal portions (about 4-6 depending on size preference) and mold each portion around a skewer, pressing firmly to ensure it adheres to the skewer.

Marinade (Optional)

  1. 3

    Prepare Marinade

In a separate bowl, mix the yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, and ground turmeric until well blended. If desired, coat the kabobs with this marinade and let them sit for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Grilling Kabobs

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Grill the kabobs for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F/70°C for beef or lamb).

  2. 5

    Serving

Remove the kabobs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with your choice of sides, such as rice, pita bread, or a fresh salad.
