Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the marinade

In a large bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the steak

Place the ribeye steaks into the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for the best flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the grill or skillet

Preheat your grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the steak

Remove the steaks from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Place the steaks on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Preparing Optional Sides

  1. 6

    Prepare asparagus (optional)

While the steak is resting, toss the trimmed asparagus with garlic butter and sauté in the same skillet or grill for about 5-7 minutes until tender.

  2. 7

    Serve with mashed potatoes (optional)

Plate the steak alongside a serving of mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
