In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.

If using ham, chop it into small pieces. For mushrooms, clean and slice them thinly.

In a non-stick skillet, heat the butter over medium heat until melted. Pour in the egg mixture and let it cook for a couple of minutes until the edges begin to set.
4. Add Fillings
Sprinkle your choice of ham or mushrooms and Gruyère cheese evenly over one half of the omelette.
5. Fold and Finish Cooking
Carefully fold the omelette in half over the fillings and let it cook for another minute until the cheese is melted and the egg is fully cooked.
