Method

Croissant Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Gradually add warm milk and mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.

  2. 2

    Incorporate Butter

Roll the dough into a rectangle. Place the cold butter in the center and fold the dough over it. Roll out and fold into thirds. Repeat this process 3 times to create layers.

  3. 3

    Chill the Dough

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Almond Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix almond flour, powdered sugar, softened butter, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 5

    Shape the Croissants

Roll out the chilled dough and cut into triangles. Place a spoonful of almond filling at the base and roll towards the tip. Shape into a crescent.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Place croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sliced almonds.

  3. 7

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  4. 8

    Serve

Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
