Prepare Sticky Rice
- 1
Soak the Rice
Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Steam the Rice
Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth. Steam the rice for about 30-40 minutes or until tender.
Make Coconut Sauce
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, but do not boil.
- 4
Reserve Some Sauce
Remove half of the coconut sauce from the pan and set aside for drizzling later.
Prepare Mango
- 5
Slice the Mango
Peel the ripe mangoes and slice them into thin strips or wedges.
Assemble the Dish
- 6
Combine Rice and Sauce
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and pour the remaining coconut sauce over it. Stir gently to combine.
- 7
Serve
Place a serving of sticky rice on a plate, arrange the mango slices beside it, and drizzle the reserved coconut sauce on top. Garnish with sesame seeds and mint leaves.
