Main Dish: Slow Cooked Pulled Pork

Side Dish: Classic Coleslaw

Method

Main Dish: Slow Cooked Pulled Pork

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Place it in a slow cooker.

  2. 2

    Add the Aromatics

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic on top of the pork in the slow cooker.

  3. 3

    Add Barbecue Sauce

Pour the barbecue sauce over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is well coated.

  4. 4

    Cook

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender and easily pulled apart with a fork.

  5. 5

    Shred and Serve

Remove the pork from the slow cooker, shred it with two forks, and mix it with the remaining sauce. Serve warm.

Side Dish: Classic Coleslaw

  1. 6

    Combine Vegetables

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrots.

  2. 7

    Prepare Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 8

    Mix Everything Together

Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss well to combine. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.

Dessert: Brownies

  1. 9

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 10

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract until well mixed.

  3. 11

    Add Dry Ingredients

Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

  4. 12

    Bake

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  5. 13

    Cool and Cut

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares and serving.
