Dry Rub Ingredients
Ribs
Method
Prepare the Dry Rub
- 1
Mix Dry Rub Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, dried thyme, and dried oregano. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Prepare the Ribs
- 2
Trim the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the pork ribs if it is still attached. This allows the rub to penetrate better and results in more tender ribs.
- 3
Apply the Dry Rub
Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the dry rub mixture. Make sure to rub it in well so that it adheres to the meat. Cover the ribs with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
Cook the Ribs
- 4
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). This low and slow cooking method ensures tender ribs.
- 5
Prepare for Baking
Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Fold the edges of the foil up to create a pouch, which helps to keep moisture in while cooking.
- 6
Add Apple Cider Vinegar and Water
In a small bowl, mix the apple cider vinegar and water. Pour this mixture into the foil pouch with the ribs. This will help steam the ribs while they cook.
- 7
Bake the Ribs
Seal the foil pouch tightly and place it in the preheated oven. Bake the ribs for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, or until they are tender and the meat pulls away from the bone easily.
- 8
Serve the Ribs
- 9
Rest and Serve
Remove the ribs from the grill or oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy your delicious dry ribs!
