Main Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pork Skins
Clean the pork skins under cold running water. Remove any hair or excess fat. Cut the skins into 1-2 inch strips.
- 2
Season the Pork Skins
In a large bowl, combine the cut pork skins with salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure all pieces are evenly coated with the seasoning.
Cooking
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Pork Skins
Carefully add a handful of the seasoned pork skins to the hot oil. Fry them in small batches to avoid overcrowding the pot. Fry until they puff up and become golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 5
Cool and Season
Allow the pork rinds to cool for a few minutes. Optionally, sprinkle with additional salt or seasoning to taste.
