Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepping the Ribs

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Applying the Rub

In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.

  3. 3

    Smoking the Ribs

Place the ribs in the preheated smoker bone side down. Close the lid and smoke for 4-5 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone easily.

  4. 4

    Applying BBQ Sauce

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce every 10 minutes to create a nice glaze.

Preparing Sides

  1. 5

    Coleslaw

Combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and a dressing of your choice in a bowl. Toss well and refrigerate until serving.

  2. 6

    Cornbread

Prepare cornbread according to package directions or your favorite homemade recipe. Allow to cool before serving.

  3. 7

    Baked Beans

Heat baked beans in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through. Serve in a bowl.

  4. 8

    Grilled Corn

Preheat a grill over medium heat. Grill corn on the cob for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until charred and tender.
