Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dry Rub

In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Season the Ribs

Rub the dry mixture generously all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 4

    Preheat the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to a temperature of 225°F (107°C).

  2. 5

    Smoke the Ribs

Place the ribs in the smoker bone side down. Smoke for about 4-5 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone.

  3. 6

    Apply Barbecue Sauce

In the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the barbecue sauce on the ribs, allowing it to caramelize a bit.

Preparation of Sides

  1. 7

    Prepare Coleslaw

In a bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and your favorite coleslaw dressing. Toss well and refrigerate until serving.

  2. 8

    Prepare Cornbread

Bake cornbread according to the package instructions or your favorite recipe. Cut into pieces when cooled.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Ribs and Sides

Once the ribs are done, let them rest for about 10 minutes, then slice between the bones. Serve with coleslaw and cornbread on the side.
