Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepping the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Applying Olive Oil

Rub the olive oil all over the ribs to help the dry rub adhere better.

  3. 3

    Making the Dry Rub

In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Applying the Dry Rub

Generously apply the dry rub mixture over both sides of the ribs, making sure to massaged it into the meat. Let the ribs sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 6

    Wrapping the Ribs

Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil to keep them moist during cooking.

  3. 7

    Cooking Time

Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and cook in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

  4. 8

    Finishing on the Grill

For added flavor, remove the ribs from the oven, unwrap them and place them on a hot grill for about 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally until nicely charred.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 9

    Making the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and your choice of dressing. Toss well and refrigerate until serving.

  2. 10
