If you are using raw protein (like ground beef or chicken), cook it in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. If using canned black beans, rinse and drain them.

Slice the jalapeños into thin rounds. If you prefer less heat, remove the seeds before slicing.
Assembling Nachos

Layer Tortilla Chips
Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a large baking tray or a cast iron skillet.

Evenly distribute the cooked protein over the tortilla chips.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the chips and protein. Top with sliced jalapeños.
