Sangria Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
- 1
Prepare the Fruit
Wash the oranges and apples thoroughly. Slice the oranges into rounds and the apples into wedges, removing any seeds.
- 2
Combine the Ingredients
In a large pitcher, add the red wine, cognac, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- 3
Add the Fruits
Add the sliced oranges and apples into the pitcher. Stir gently to combine with the wine mixture.
- 4
Add Cinnamon
Place the cinnamon sticks into the pitcher. This will infuse the sangria with a warm spice flavor.
- 5
Chill the Sangria
Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- 6
Serve with Sparkling Water
When ready to serve, add the sparkling water to the pitcher, stirring gently. Pour the sangria into glasses filled with ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
