Chicken Strips

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, making sure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and cornstarch together. This will be your breading mixture.

  3. 3

    Coat the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the marinade and let excess buttermilk drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour and cornstarch mixture, pressing firmly to adhere.

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken Strips

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken strips. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Toast your choice of bread. Place the fried chicken strips on the bread, add your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and sauces. Top with another slice of bread.

  6. 6

    Serve

Cut the sandwich in half and serve hot.
