Bread Pudding Ingredients

Method

Bread Pudding Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the day-old bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Custard

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine and Add Fruit

Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes. Gently fold in the raisins or dried fruit until evenly distributed. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the custard.

  4. 4

    Bake

Grease a baking dish with butter and pour the soaked bread mixture into it. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
