Method

Prepare Burger Patties

1

Mix the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ½ inch thick.

Cook the Patties

3

Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

4

Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.

5

Flip and Add Cheese

Flip the patties and place two slices of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

6

Chop Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash and chop the lettuce, tomato, and onion. Slice the tomato and onion into rings.

Assemble the Burger

7

Toast the Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

8

Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a generous amount of lettuce, followed by a tomato slice, onion rings, and pickles. Place one cheesy beef patty on top, then add another layer of lettuce, and finally the second cheesy beef patty.

9

Add Condiments

Drizzle ketchup and mustard on top of the second patty, then place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
