Method

Prepare the Beef Patty

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, and 1 tsp of garlic powder. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Beef Patty

3

Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

4

Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).

5

Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Burger

6

Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

7

Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
