For the Coffee Mixture

For the Mascarpone Cream

Method

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of espresso using your preferred method. Allow to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the brewed espresso with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved and set aside.

Make the Mascarpone Cream

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a heatproof bowl, whisk together 2 egg yolks and 3/4 cup powdered sugar. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) and whisk until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Mix in Mascarpone

Remove the bowl from heat and let it cool slightly. Add 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg mixture, and gently fold until smooth.

  3. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.

Assemble the Tiramisu Shooters

  1. 6

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, coating them evenly but not soaking them.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

In serving glasses or shot glasses, layer the dipped ladyfingers at the bottom, followed by a layer of the mascarpone cream. Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled, ending with the mascarpone cream on top.

  3. 8

    Finish and Chill

Dust the top with cocoa powder and add chocolate shavings if desired. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
